Terms of Service

Version 2026-10-draft

These terms apply between Zarbook and the business that signs up ("you"). This is a draft for testing only.

What we do

Zarbook lets you create deposit requests for your bookings. Your clients pay on Paystack's checkout, and the deposit is paid to your bank account through Paystack, less our platform fee (a percentage plus a fixed facilitation fee per deposit) and Paystack's processing fee, which you pay. Clients can pay by card, Instant EFT or Capitec Pay. Paystack charges you less for bank payments than for cards.

Fees and plans

There is no monthly or sign-up fee. Our fee is charged only on each paid deposit and is shown in your account. A change in fee applies to new deposit requests only. Deposits already created keep the fee they were created with.

Cancellations and refunds

Your client can ask to cancel from their payment link, and you approve or decline the request. When a client cancels, their refund is the deposit less our fee and Paystack's fee. When you cancel, or the booking is cancelled because the person booked is hospitalised or has died, the client gets the full deposit back and you bear the fees, as the Consumer Protection Act requires.

How refunds are paid and recovered

We pay each refund to your client through Paystack straight away, on your behalf. We then take the same amount from your next deposit(s), by keeping that part of the deposit before the rest is paid to you, until it is repaid. Your balance page always shows what is still to be recovered. If you stop receiving deposits, any amount still to be recovered remains payable to us.

Your clients

You are responsible for your relationship and communication with your clients, your cancellation policy and the services you provide. We never message your clients.
